Proposed community hall was proposed as part of municipal site directly adjoining existing Town Hall to the west, church garden to the north and schools to the east. Our main objective was to consolidate existing buildings and new interventions into a meaningful attractive public district contributing to the better social and cultural life of local population. Oldest part of an existing building was built in the 1940s as a school building and was converted into a light production building in 1970s. Following the termination of production activity in 1990s, the building gradually deteriorated and is now only partially occupied and used mostly as a storage and archive space.
Local representatives decided to exploit the potential of the location and the building by transforming it into a new communal facility with a multipurpose hall for 300 visitors with appropriate support facilities. New communal entrance courtyard with small amphitheatre providing access to both existing town hall and new community hall became an important feature of the overall design as it unified diverse and scattered elements into the unified whole.
